Our Story
Hindley Amateur Swimming Club was formed in 1970. Over time the club has provided swimmers who have represented Great Britain in various events and provided officials to our local associations. Here are some of the highlights.

Notable Contributors
Alan France
Father of Leslie, a Great Britain swimmer, is now coach for the Wigan best scheme. Alan organised the Bolton and District mini league for many years and was president of the association between 1984 and 1985.
Philip Ainge
Was age group organiser for Bolton and District for several years. Both his son and daughter represented Hindley and their district. Philip was also president of Bolton and District between 1992 and 1994.
Gordon Halliwell
Was swimming secretary and league organiser for Manchester and District for many years including the presidency in 1984. Gordon was also a qualified swimming referee. His son Michael represented Hindley, the district, the county and catholic schools.
Christopher Carol
Was age group organiser of Manchester and District for several years including the presidency in 1995. Currently Christopher is the deputy president for the Lancashire water polo and swimming association.
